Born 1970 in Edmonton, Canada to Chinese and Australian parents, both mathematicians. Grew up in Adelaide, Australia, dual citizen of Australia and Canada. Living since 1993 in Berlin.

Music Director

Since 2002 music director of the Berlin Sibelius Orchestra, since 2006 concurrently music director of the Schöneberg Symphony Orchestra. Regular performances with both orchestras in the Philharmonie Berlin and Konzerthaus Berlin.

Repertoire

The repertoire encompasses the core German and Austro-Hungarian symphonic works of the 19th and early 20th century, including eastern European composers and with particular emphasis on the works of Beethoven, Schumann, Wagner, Brahms, Bruckner, Mahler, Berg, Sibelius, Bartók, Janáček and Stravinsky.
